Vancouver-area restaurant says goodbye to staff, customers, and employees

The closing of the restaurant and the end of the company’s service will be bittersweet for the owners of Vancouver’s newest dive bar, The Trash, and its patrons.
The bar’s owner, Jeremy and Melissa Krasniewski, said they are going to leave behind their staff and patrons to care for their newborn daughter.
“It’s a sad day.
There are no words to describe the pain that this will bring to all of us,” Krasnauskis wrote in an email.
“I am a mother and a wife, and I am leaving my family behind to raise my daughter.
We are doing this to give her a better life, to give my daughter the best possible start in life, and to help others through the tough times.
I can’t do this alone.”
The two owners of the bar said they decided to close after a six-month business partnership.
“We have worked very hard to get to where we are today, and our focus is always on the bar, not the business,” Kasniewskis wrote.
“As I sit here tonight, I’m not sure what we are going see next.
The restaurant has been a part of my life for over a decade, and will continue to be so.”
The owners said the staff will stay behind, but they are not leaving behind their customers.
The owners of The Trash say they will keep operating, but will have to make a decision about the future of their business.
“This is the best place in Vancouver right now,” Krikas said.
“And we hope to see you back in the future.”
